Has there been any year more eagerly awaited in our lifetime?

Why are you ready for 2021?

2020 has been a rough year for most folks, hasn’t it? I suspect you agree, if you have been a resident of planet earth this past year!

We had five family funerals this year…and COVID-19 wasn’t even the cause!

My wife and I took the trip of a lifetime…a mission trip to Kenya…but had to return early due to the pandemic.

Our church had to go to virtual services for about 3 months, and we still aren’t back to our full schedule and probably won’t be for several more months.

I know a number of folk who have contracted the coronavirus and a few who have died from it, unfortunately.

It seems that a lot of folk have understandably been living in fear of catching the virus and/or discouraged due to the social distancing, isolation, economic impact and the mask requirements.

So, yes…it had been a tough year!

But we have not had to face these challenges alone! Just as God was with Joshua when he and the people of Israel were facing giants, He has been with us as well. God’s message to Joshua has been encouraging to me for many years, but also especially this year: “be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

As 2020 comes to an end and 2021 begins, I am thanking the Lord that He has been faithful to us and has been with us every moment!
